Princely Treasure from the House of Liechtenstein

This exhibition displays and explores the aristocratic taste of the Liechtenstein princes through the artefacts collection The selections are diverse and span from early 16th century (Raphael) up to mid-19th century (Waldmüller) The predominant art style reflected in the collection is that of 17th century baroque with good examples from Italian, Flemish and Dutch regions – with world wide famous master pieces by Raphael and Rubens, among others. Besides a selection of important Viennese prints (Salomon Kleiner), there are also examples of baroque decorative arts including an automaton, tapestry and trade ware, Not to forget: a small group of works illustrate 18th and mid-19th century works (Neo-classical and Biedermier).
